Erin Ireland’s Mindful Book Club
Well known Vancouver food writer Erin Ireland and her friend Dr. Genieve Burley have started a Mindful Book Club and we are launching a Whistler gathering of this book club.
Every two months we will get together to chat about the book that Erin and Genieve pick. It will be a casual gathering and you are welcome to bring tea, food and/or wine! You can read their intro to the book club here.
The evening following the book club there will also be a Twitter chat at 7:30pm using the hashtag #mindfulbook
The event is open to everyone and even if you haven’t had time to read the book feel free to join anyway!
The next book club is May 24th at The Green Moustache in Whistler village and we will be discussing Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. RSVP on the Facebook event page or just turn up on the night.
Mindful Living Workshop – Postponed to August
***This event was originally scheduled to take place on June 21st, but will now be postponed to August. Please keep an eye on the website for the new date.***
The second new event for Whistler is the Mindful Living Workshop. Not so much a ‘workshop’ as a get together of people who have questions with people who have answers!
The idea behind these Mindful Living Workshops is to bring together people in our community who know a lot about a subject, such as veganism, zero waste, making your own cleaning products etc. with people who want to know more about these things.
It will be a casual gathering where we chat about the topic in question and enjoy connecting with like-minded people. You can ask the questions you have about the topic and learn from those who live the lifestyle. You are welcome to bring tea, wine or snacks too!
Our first meet up will be Veganism 101, at The Green Moustache in Whistler Village. If you are interested in learning more about the vegan lifestyle and how to get started with moving away from using animal products, including food, cosmetics, clothing etc, then come along and join the workshop!
All our events are posted on our Earthsave Whistler Facebook page and you can subscribe here to be informed when a new event is posted.
